Test unreleased scents with real consumers. Get unbiased insights from the fragrance community to help guide development and launches.
B.A.D, Be A Decider, is our own panel. Meticulously built for fragrance, and for the kind of feedback you can actually use.
The first film explains what the panel is. The second follows drop 03 from decanting to data.
Six questions we actually get asked.
Yes. Hundreds of screened fragrance consumers, ready to test.
Yes. Fieldwork runs in weeks, and results land live as they arrive.
No. Every study is blind. No brand, no packaging, just the fragrance. Panellists are never told whose fragrance they have.
We score them against each other, and tell you when it's too close to call.
Collectors, enthusiasts and reviewers. They already own the shelf you're launching onto.
A live dashboard. Every score, every comment, and the write-ups underneath the numbers.
Anyone can rent you a thousand strangers who will test cereal on Tuesday and shampoo on Wednesday. We built something much narrower and far more useful: a standing panel of enthusiasts, collectors and reviewers who only ever test fragrance. The difference shows up in the quality of their feedback.
Every fragrance is scored blind on originality, projection, wearability and longevity, then ranked against the rest of the set.
Ask a general panel how long something lasts and you get a guess. These people wear it for a full day and notice the hour it drops.
Every write-up is read by a person, tagged to a theme and marked positive or negative. A few hundred paragraphs become the themes actually driving the response.
A theme only exists if people write enough to carry one. That is what the panel is built for.
Every panellist says whether they would buy a full bottle, and what they would expect to pay.
They do not know whose fragrance it is, so the price is based on the scent alone.
Panellists film their reactions the day the box lands, still with no idea whose fragrance is inside. Clear evidence that this is a community and not a database.

Fragrance enthusiasts, collectors and reviewers: people who buy heavily in the category and can describe what they smell. Screened individually and invited, not drawn from a bought list. An excellent instrument for direction and diagnosis; the wrong one for forecasting national market share. We'll tell you which you need.
The panel. A general agency assembles respondents to a demographic spec and tests whatever is in front of them that month. Ours is a standing fragrance community, which is why the written feedback carries structure, vocabulary and a reference set instead of "nice, quite strong".
We size it to the question rather than quoting a database number. Size, market and composition are agreed with you before anything ships, and recorded so a later study can be compared against it.
Tell us where. Market coverage is scoped per study. Talk to us about the markets you need and we'll be straight about what we can field there and on what timeline.
Fieldwork is measured in weeks rather than months, and results appear on your dashboard as they arrive rather than all at the end. You'll have a timeline for your specific study before you commit to anything.
The formulas, and a clear statement of what you're trying to find out. We handle decanting, blinding, packing, recruitment, dispatch, chasing and analysis. You don't need to brief a panel or build a questionnaire.
Yes, and structurally so. Panellists are never told whose fragrance they are testing, so no participant can identify you even if they wanted to. Access to your results is by named invitation, and every view is logged.
Zero risk. Testing is blind, so a panellist cannot name you or the collection. They don't know.
Yes. Benchmarks go into the set unbranded, exactly like everything else, and are scored on the same measures, which is the only way the comparison means anything.
No. We report the consumer problem: what is attracting people, what is pushing them away, and where the panel splits. What to do about it in the formula is your perfumer's decision, and we don't pretend otherwise.
It depends on panel size, market and how many fragrances are on test. Tell us the study you have in mind and we'll come back with a figure. There is no per-seat pricing to work around.
